Emboldening Other Women
with Terri Flannagan
Terri is the co-founder of Ember CLT, a quarterly worship gathering for the women in Charlotte, NC. She is a Texas girl, born and raised NC home. She has been married for 15 years and has three children. People gathering and connecting is her passion it is teaching bible study in her home or hosting her annual parties for her neighborhood and community.
In this teaching, Terri shares about the importance of emboldening other women through the story of Mary and Elizabeth in Luke 1. Through these two women we see the importance of processing what the Lord is doing in community, embracing one another with joy, showing humility, and recognizing what the Lord is done. In all of these things, they emboldened each other and it resulted in the worship of the Lord and the boldness to each walk out their assignment with purpose and joy!

In the midst of extreme heartache and fear, rather than trying to choose joy, we need to seek the Source of our Joy. When others are walking through dark seasons, listening to the gentle prompts of God is a way for us to embolden other people to joy because He uses us as tools for His ultimate purpose. Suzie shares that joy is more than a feeling; it is a knowing. It is knowing what is true and knowing where real joy is found.

It is so important to have people who are pouring into us, who we are pouring into, and who coming alongside us in this faith journey. No matter if you are a mature Christian or just beginning your walk with the Lord, your next step is to surrender by surrounding yourself with other Christian women and go through life together. Finally, Barb shares her "Wilderness A, B, C's" for what to do when life doesn't make sense and you feel out of control. It is only when we let go and surrender when we find the Lord's peace.

She shares her personal story to how she grew in contentment through difficult circumstances, but ultimately, the small moments throughout the day is where we need to practice contentment. Contentment is not a natural response for us, but it can be a practice that we emulate in our daily lives. Practically, we first can embolden contentment by identifying the thoughts that tell us we are not enough and we do not have enough. Secondly, practicing gratitude breeds contentment. And finally, we can turn our minds to the things that we can do and intentionally filling ourselves. When we are content, we have the ability to live emboldened life pursuing the things of God.
